DOMAIN PARKING

If you wish to register your domain and park it with us until you are ready to set it up and get it running, we will be glad to do this! Just pay the $35 set up fee and we will set up your domain with an "Under Construction" page. You can send us your own "Under Construction" page under 250 kb if you prefer. NO monthly fees will be due until you are ready to use your space. When you are ready to use the space, visit Renewals to pay the hosting fees.

Do you need to REGISTER a new DOMAIN NAME?

We can register your new domain name (if available) for only $25 per year. Add this to your shopping cart and fill out the necessary information on the form. We will do the rest. Rest assured, you will be given control over your domain. Domain registrations are NON REFUNDABLE.

Can I host an adult site?
Not here! That is contrary to our Terms of Service

What is your spam or bulk e-mail policy?
You may not use our network or in any way refer to our network in any mass, bulk or spam mail. If you spam you will have your site removed from our network. The reason for this is that spam puts our services at risk. We must prove to our upstream that we take swift and sure action to prevent spam on the network. Don't include your domain name in spam, you will be wasting your money.

What if I don't need a domain name, but want server space?
Just sign up for the Lunar Plan which gives you a sub-domain account. Your address will be http://www.solsticepoint.com/you/. Due to the difference in setting up the sub domain accounts, some of the services will be limited for security reasons. You will not have access to a control panel, logs, or POP email accounts.

May I run my own CGI scripts?
You are welcome to use any script that does not monopolize the CPU or otherwise cause harm to other customers. Please review all information about running a script including security and server crash information before you run it.

How can I learn how to use FTP and the email?

Buy extra space?
Yes you may buy extra space by changing your hosting plan at any time.

Use unlimited bandwidth?
We do not measure bandwidth or charge for it. However, we do require that you do not monopolize the server. Should your usage interfere with the services we provide to other customers you may be asked to remove scripts. If your site needs more resources we will request that you move to a mini or dedicated server.

Support ASP?
No, this is a Microsoft product and we do not use NT servers. The servers DO support PHP and MySql and you may run cgi scripts.

Support international domains like .de, .nu .se?
Yes, we can host any domain you would like to use as long as the agency for that domain allows you to have it.

How long does it take to setup a new account?
New accounts should be setup within hours of sending your request. We setup new accounts on business days.

What does it take to get my domain working?

New domains that Solstice Point registers can be up and running in as little as 24 hours but may take as long as 72 hours. Much depends upon how easy it is to get a transfer approved. Domains that are transferred could take longer. Certain registrars are backlogged and very slow. However, you will have FTP access to your permanent folder within hours of your order, and may begin working on your website right away.
