A TRIBUTE FROM PAT GEISLER:
I knew Buz Myers for many years, as a colleague and respected friend. We often attended each other's lectures and I always appreciated his point of view, which went in a different direction than mine and led me down new pathways. I was sorry when he left the Cleveland area and felt he left a void behind.

One of my fondest memories is a huge Halloween party he threw one year which I attended. I still think it was the best Halloween party I ever went to. He had a great spirit of fun and a knack for making people feel welcomed and appreciated. Astrology is richer because he was among us.

ERIN SULLIVAN SHARES HER MEMORIES OF BUZ:

Buz and I shared not only a birthday but also a lot of traits as well....so, there are a lot of warm and amusing memories. During the early and mid-80s' we were really close friends, and there were a number of us who were on the same wave for a good long crest.

Things go in waves and particles, and as such, the Pluto transit over my Sun and his Sun marked a huge change in both life and style - I moved to London, England, and underwent the requisite purges, and he left Cleveland and other stuff, and also underwent the requisite changes....and we really didn't meet again until the long nine year Pluto transit was over. When we met again, we laughed, hugged, and said, "Well, I know what you went through, and I am glad you survived. And you are as gorgeous as ever!"

But this memory is one that is really good, very typical of he and I: It was during and after a WRAC conference in Euclid, maybe '84 and I was staying a few days doing a post-conference workshop. He wanted me to stay in the office rather than an hotel because my father was critically ill, and I was waiting that wait, and he didn't want me to feel alone.

So, I was waiting poised by the phone. There were a few of us hanging about in the office, having a lot of laughs and being quite witty, when the phone rang. We all went quiet, and I looked at Buz and he said, "Go ahead you answer it, it might be your father who almost art in heaven".

Bye Buz, it's been real. Love, Erin

FROM GLORIA M. PENROD:

Dearest Buz, I know you are aware that there are so many of us saddened that you had to leave us so soon. But we also know you will always be in our hearts. You left a mark on each of us that will never be equaled nor forgotten.

A TRIBUTE TO BUZ BY EILEEN NAUMAN:

My favorite memory of Buz was back in 1982 when I lived in Ohio, about two and half hours south of Cleveland where he lived. I had just sold my first two romance books to Berkley and was planning a celebration. I invited Buz and Eric, among others. I was touched with Buz's wanting to drive 2 1/2 hours one way to come to our informal celebration. He was a very busy, popular astrologer. We played charades all night and Buz was so funny. I don't think any of us laughed so hard or so often with the mimicry and gesticulations, faces and body language we used as the two teams tried to guess the words!

Buz always looked for the silver lining in things; no matter how black it looked. And he always had something upbeat to say about worst-case-scenarios. His Scorpio ability to dive beneath the many layers and get to the heart of the situation was breathtaking. He'd take one look at you, his eyes would take on that merry glint, that one corner of his mouth would hitch upward and ZING! out came the short one word phrase that just said it all.

We're lucking to have Buz on casette tapes. I know many people will spend hours chuckling over his razzle-dazzle delivery, his one-liners, and yet, they were delivered with compassion. His Cancer Moon made him a "mommy" in disguise. He really cared and nurtured people in the finest of ways--but he didn't pull any punches either. I count myself fortunate to have known him and shared some wonderful, happy times with him. I'm sure he's having a ball where he's at right now.

FROM JOAN McEVERS AND MARION MARCH:
We were very sorry to hear that Robert 'Buz' Myers passed away. Buz, one of astrology's outstanding proponents will be missed by all who knew him. Outgoing, friendly and concerned are just a few of the words that described Buz. An outstanding speaker, he made astrology most interesting to the many people who were fortunate enough to hear his lectures. His guidance for the folks who were fortunate enough to have him do their horoscopes were always right on the money. He will be missed, not only by his clients and students, but also by his fellow astrologers. Buz always had a new and different approach that all his listeners could learn from --- even those who felt they 'knew it all.

Bon voyage, Buz, Joan McEvers and Marion March

FROM DONNA VAN TOEN:

Like many others, I count myself lucky to have known Buz Myers. Buz was a rare animal in astrology -- a guru in the true sense of the word, someone who brought light without the ego posturing and the self-serving drives found in some self-proclaimed gurus. He had time for the newcomers and in fact promoted them through WRAC. And speaking of WRAC, it became a conference other conferences patterned themselves after. Buz had a hand in that too.

Some of you may be aware of International Astrology Day, which is celebrated on -- or close to -- the March Equinox. That was also a Buz Myers idea, though it wasn't called International Astrology Day at inception.

Buz was a tireless fundraiser and a tireless promoter of astrology -- through AFAN, through WRAC, through RKM, and just through his presence. He did countless fundraisers for new astrology groups to help them get up and running, both in the US and in Canada.

And those lectures...He really DID zap you and get your brain buzzing didn't he?? I hope they have tape recorders wherever he is, because photographic memories or no, those light beings are never going to take in all he is saying and conveying in one sitting. And I hope they have an appreciation of that wry sense of humor. Just as Buz had a hand in shaking the dust off astrology and astrologers here, I betcha he'll be shaking the dust off some of those akashic records and stuffy angels up there.

Buz made enormous contributions to astrology. They will be remembered. So will he. Thank you Buz, and Godspeed. Donna Van Toen
