CLASSIC BRITISH ASTROLOGY AUTHORS
In
the first half of the Twentieth Century, British astrologers were
often at the forefront of our field. Coming from a very scholarly
tradition, they explored and added to classical astrological knowledge
and greatly influenced astrologers from America and other countries.
Here are a few who should not be forgotten.
Though their books are rare
by now, AstroAmerica
is a good resource for older and out of print books.
If you own any of them, hold onto them for dear life, or donate them to the Seattle Metaphysical
Library or Kepler College.
E.H. BAILEY: AstroDataBank says that he was a British physician,
astrologer, publisher, writer and editor. He edited the British
Journal of Astrology. Influenced by Sepharial, he was the author of
The Prenatal Epoch, for which he researched hundreds of charts
in order to determine the date of conception. He also wrote Astrology: A Recent History, Including
the Untold Story of its role in WWII. He was born on November 29,
1876, in Kent, England. ADB rates his rectification of his birth
time as 6:20 PM GMT as C. His parents said it was in the morning.
He died on June 4, 1959.

RONALD C. DAVISON: Author of Astrology: The Classic Guide
to Understanding Your Horoscope. Long one of the most accessible and
popular books on astrology, this classic explains the author's
famous keyword system for interpreting the birth chart.
Keywords for each planet in every sign & house give tremendous
insights into personal (often unconscious) motivation.
Recently rereleased by CRCS in paper. His books also
include A Classic Guide to Synastry and Techniques of
Prediction, all available at AstroAmerica.
AstroDataBank says he was the British President
of the Astrological Lodge of the Theosophical Society in London and
edited The Astrology Magazine. As a matter of policy, he rectified every chart by the prenatal epoch. He won the Marc Edmund Jones Award. He was born January 10, 1914 in Bromley, England.
