![]() ![]() Maureen Demot was a Psychological Astrology teacher and a Jungian Human Development Counselor, the author of Jungian Psychology and Archetypal Astrology. She taught, lectured, and counseled in the United States of America, Europe, and Africa. Maureen founded the Federation of Astrologers (South Africa), and established and staffed the Institute of Astro-Psychology in South Africa. The Institute provided counseling sessions, education, training, and seminars. She devised, developed, and taught regular ongoing astrological/psychological courses in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Windhoek, Namibia. In addition, she was the editor of the Journal for Astro-Psychology, and contributed to numerous newspaper articles. Maureen assessed, analyzed, and replied to numerous mail enquiries on personal problems via a bi-monthly column in the magazine, FAIR LADY. Maureen has been a radio and television personality, performed volunteer work, and is schooled in the arts. She is an ordained minister in the International Metaphysical Ministries. Maureen studied Science of Religion at the University of South Africa in Pretoria, astrology at the Jeff Mayo School of Astrology in Cumbria, [where she obtained a Diploma with Distinction]. She also studied Raja Yoga in Mauritius with Swami Venkatsananda, and Integral Yoga in Buckingham. She was a life member of the National Council for Geocosmic Research, a member of the Washington Society for Jungian Psychology, the American Association of Hypnotherapists, and the London Pastoral Guild. Truly a Renaissance woman, Maureen was schooled in commercial art and interior decorating, earned a trophy for superior combat marksmanship, was a Cordon Bleu chef, an accomplished mezzo-soprano, and was an entrepreneur who founded and managed several companies. According to her birth certificate, she was born August 11, 1941 at 12:13 AM in Johannesburg, S.A. (This time was rectified by Mae Wilson Ludlum and found to be only a few minutes off.) She passed over from this life as a result of an automobile accident on February 17, 2001 at 11:06 PM in Culpeper, VA. She is deeply mourned by her many friends and family.
