Luis Lesur

(1960-2009)

Astrology has lost one of its most brilliant representatives. Luis Lesur, astrologer and consultant with more than 20 years of experience as a teacher, NCGR Chapter President and Advisor, Kepler College Advisor, and Mexico Vice President for ISAR, has left us in this plane of reality.

Although all death is lamentable and painful, this is more so because he was a great teacher and disseminator of the art of astrology. He dominated all astrological techniques, from traditional to horary astrology and authored two important books: Las Claves Ocultas de la Virgen de Guadalupe (The Hidden Keys of the Virgin of Guadalupe), where he makes an analysis of the historical moment of the appearance and the deep meaning the virgin has for the construction of the Mexican identity, as well as Vicios y Prejuicios de la Astrología, (Vices and Prejudices of Astrology), where he places this discipline as a symbolic universe in which theoretical knowledge and imagination meet, demystifying bad interpretations form which astrology has been the target of many attacks.

The astrological communities in México— many of whose members studied with Luis or with his disciples—deeply lament the loss of their friend, teacher, and colleague. Luis: your life always was illuminated by the light of the stars. We are sure that in the new path you will follow you will still be accompanied by this light, the one you so generously shared with those that had the luck to learn of your knowledge and to enjoy your friendship.

Josè Antonio Lugo and the NCGR Astrological Mexican Community.
