JEFF MAYO
(1921-1998)
Jeff Mayo was a British astrologer whose work impacted thousands of astrology students world-wide.
He succeeded Margaret Hone as principal of the Faculty of Astrological Studies.
In 1973, his Mayo School of Astrology opened its doors. He also created a correspondence
course, complete with rigorous examinations, several levels of competency, and a diploma.
The school, which has had students from around the world, continues to thrive, and you can find out about its program on line.
Jeff's instructional texts had a highly deserved reputation. They included
The Planets and Human Behavior, Teach Yourself Astrology, and his 1995 book, Astrology, a
Key to Personality. Some of these are still available through major bookstore chains, but
Astrology Center of America carries most of them.

Norman Winski writes:
About Margaret Hone and Jeff Mayo: The bios you have
don't mention that Margaret Hone succeded C.E.O. Carter as the
principal of the Faculty for Astrological Studies and that
Hone was suceeded by Jeff Mayo. I was a correspondent student of the
school 1971-72 and had Jeff Mayo as my teacher. An author
who attended the school and who inspired me to take their
course was Alexandra Mark, whose excellent book, Astrology for
the Aquarian Age is one of the best I ever read.
She is the one who set me on the path of British Astrology via FAS.
