Magnesium
General Information:
- Taking adequate magnesium has been shown to aid those who are exposed to high decibel noise - makes them capable of maintaining their hearing under these conditions.
- Other studies have shown it is quickly depleted as blood pressure rises. It is a good idea to take supplements when under stress.
- Like chromium, this is effective in maintaining blood sugar levels thus fighting insulin resistance and heart disease.
- In a study in the Netherlands, magnesium supplements were found to lower blood pressure in women who were experiencing menopause provided they were not on other medication at the time.
- Chelated magnesium is preferred.
